Chris Walker-Hebborn is a 20 year old swimmer and one of Britain’s best hopes for success in the pool at the 2012 Olympics. He is the British Record holder in the 200m backstroke and a true character amongst a new crop of young swimmers who are beginning to emerge onto the World scene.
Chris has a proven pedigree as a junior having claimed seven medals in total at the World and European Junior Championships, six of which were Gold. He enjoyed an impressive debut in the senior ranks by breaking the British Record at the 2009 World Championships and then represented Europe against the USA at the Duel in the Pool. In 2010 he has qualified to compete for England at the Commonwealth Games and is looking to pick up his first senior medal for Team England in Delhi.
Chris heralds from Bury St Edmunds but has lived and trained in both Australia and the US over the past 3 years on his journey to the top of the World Junior rankings. He comes from a large family and has the nickname of ‘Poppet’ from his days down under. He is currently studying for a Personal Training qualification and coaches swimming in his local area.
Chris writes regular blogs on the British Swimming website and has an articulate, witty and insightful style. He has experience of working with brands as well as public speaking and appearances. He is fun, lively, fast, edgy and extremely talented and an ideal ambassador and role model for his sport.
