Olympic Sport Scientist and Celebrity Trainer and Adviser.
Professor Gregory Whyte
PhD FACSM has had an international sporting career of note, followed by
a career in Sports Science at the highest elite level but he will be
most recently remebered for his recent work guiding both David Walliams
(Little Britain star) to his inspiring and unbelievable swim across the
English Channel in 2006 on behalf of Sport Relief and laterly his
inspiring leadership of 4 'normal' ladies to "The Challenge of their
Lives" for the Good Morning show on ITV where they are are also looking
to swim the Channel.
Greg's sporting career
saw him represent Great Britain as a Modern Pentathlete (combining the
sports of Swimming, Shooting, Fencing, Equestrian and Running) from
1986 to 2000. His most notable achievements include representing Great
Britain at the Olympiads of 1992 in Barcelona, Spain and 1996 in
Atlanta, USA. His career also includes 10 World Championship
appearances with a SILVER medal performance in 1984.
Greg's Professional career includes posts / consultancy as follows:

Greg's most recent
achievement of considerable note was steering and guiding Little
Britain's David Walliams to his truly inspirational swim across the
English Channel in 2006 in aid of Sport Relief - one of the toughest
challenges known to man and accomplished in a near record time for a
first time crossing by, in David's own words, "Little old me!!".
David's training and
monitoring was wholly handled by Greg for an 18 month period prior to
the attemp in summer 2006 and Greg even took part in as many of the
gruelling sessions as his work schedule would allow. David has been
tremendously grateful for the support and belief that Greg offered
during the ardous schedule he had to follow and even stated
categorically that without Greg he would never have stood a chance.
The 2 are now firm friends.
Greg's current project
involves a similar, if not some may say, more challenging project -
taking 4 'normal' ladies on behalf of ITV's Good Morning show and
coaching them in their "Challenge of their Lives" to attempt to also
swim the channel this summer (2007).
