Jack Laugher is widely being tipped as the next star of
British diving. Born in Harrogate in 1995, Jack now competes for the Team GB
and City of Leeds Diving Club in the 1m Springboard, 3m Springboard and 3m
Synchro events.
Having won two gold medals at both the World Junior
Championships and the European Junior Championships in 2010, Jack competed in
his first senior World Championships in Shanghai in 2011. His 8th
place finish in the 3m springboard has given him invaluable inexperience as he
looks to book his place in Team GB ahead of the Olympic Games in London.
Tipped to become one of the best divers in the world by his
performance director Alexei Evangulov, Jack has a great chance of announcing
himself onto the world stage with success at the Olympics in 2012. |
